HEBREW READERS CHURCH
Counseling for Men
Friend vs Counselors
-
There is a difference when seeking counsel amongst friends as opposed to in the Church in regards to who may be your counselor. In the Church, one goes unto those over the church and amongst friends, one may have one counselor of a thousand. Here are scriptures on the subject in regard to friends;
Ecclesiasticus 6:5
Sweet language will multiply friends: and a fair speaking tongue will increase kind greetings.
-
that’s how friends are gained and true friends help one another with accountability in admonishing one another to uphold the faith:
Proverbs 27:17
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Leviticus 19:17
Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
Proverbs 27:6
Faithful are the wounds of a friend;
Psalms 141:5
Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.
Ecclesiasticus 6:14-17
A faithful friend is a strong defence: and he that hath found such a one hath found a treasure. 15 Nothing doth countervail a faithful friend, and his excellency is invaluable. 16 A faithful friend is the medicine of life; and they that fear the Lord shall find him. 17 Whoso feareth the Lord shall direct his friendship aright: for as he is, so shall his neighbour be also.
-
True friends will work on upholding the law themselves, helping one another be accountable to keeping the law, and appreciate Alahayim bringing them together, valuing one another. Through sweet language, one may gain many friends being at peace with many.
Ecclesiasticus 6:6
Be in peace with many: nevertheless have but one counsellor of a thousand.
-
Yet not all friends are good for a counselor. When one is seeking a friend for a counselor, prove him first to be sure he can be trusted as he may counsel for his own occasion and leave you to yourself when things go bad or worse he will tell your personal business:
Ecclesiasticus 6:7-9
If thou wouldest get a friend, prove him first and be not hasty to credit him. 8 For some man is a friend for his own occasion, and will not abide in the day of thy trouble. 9 And there is a friend, who being turned to enmity, and strife will discover thy reproach.
-
So those scriptures guide on what friends to confide in.. a faithful one who keeps the commandments and will deal in mutual respect.
Church Counselors
-
Now when it comes to counselors in the church, one has to go unto the ministers of the church that are over you.
1Th 5:12
And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
-
Though the body of Christ is comprised of all nations that believe as there is no difference between the Jew and Gentile through faith, it is the duty of the Israelite men ministering in the Church to edify the Body of Christ:
Romans 3:1-2
What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? 2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of Alahayim.
Romans 9:4
Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of Alahayim..
Barn 8:3
The children who sprinkle are they that preached unto us the forgiveness of sins and the purification of our heart, they to whom, being twelve in number for a testimony unto the tribes (for there are twelve tribes of Israel), He gave authority over the Gospel, that they should preach it.
-
Alahayim has set men of Israel in three ranks to help in the Church for edifying the Body
1 Corinthians 12:28
And Alahayim hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers...
-
There are apostles, prophets, teachers, pastors, evangelists of the house of Israel for the perfecting of the saints.
Ephesians 4:7-8, 11-13
But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. 8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of Alahayim, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
-
In the Church, even in these end times to come, this ordaining hasn’t changed as we have the Two Witnesses who are prophets of the men of Israel that shall be sent to help build the Church unto perfection in these end times. Alahayim willing they be revealed in due time. For further edification on identifying the Two Witnesses, please refer to the playlist on the subject:
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEIZO-3m3InAdwZTf9Vmr0MNpjQw4OgMQ&si=14KTCqm8yor2LCON
-
According to scripture, these apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers are those who are over the church to help perfect the body by teaching.
Heb 13:7
Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of Alahayim: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation
1Th 5:13
And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
-
Esteem the ministers in the Church for the work sake and be at peace amongst one another. When a brother needs counsel in the Church, he has the minsters given for the perfecting of the saints. We as brethren over the church here at HRC operate in twos for transparency and accountability to the law and testimony that every matter may be established with two witnesses since we see that Christ sent his disciples by twos:
Mrk 6:7
And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits
2Co 13:1
This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established
-
When anyone (brother or sister) needs counsel, Alahayim permitting, we come together for conference when Alahayim wills. As counselors, we do have to be mindful of the law as every person isn’t coming to a meeting with good intent and sincerity:
Ecclesiasticus 11:29-34
Bring not every man into thine house: for the deceitful man hath many trains. 30 Like as a partridge taken and kept in a cage, so is the heart of the proud; and like as a spy, watcheth he for thy fall: 31 For he lieth in wait, and turneth good into evil, and in things worthy praise will lay blame upon thee. 32 Of a spark of fire a heap of coals is kindled: and a sinful man layeth wait for blood. 33 Take heed of a mischievous man, for he worketh wickedness; lest he bring upon thee a perpetual blot. 34 Receive a stranger into thine house, and he will disturb thee, and turn thee out of thine own.
-
For such reasons, even counselors must operate in humility to pray that the Most High through Christ may direct their way in truth to get counsel before getting involved in a person’s matter out of season. To ensure Alahayim is in all their thoughts, humbling one’s self to get counsel from Alahayim before getting involved with that person would be walking in wisdom and it would prevent things from not going well as the precepts has declared how things can go wrong.
Choosing A Counselor
-
Though there be they that are called counselors, yet every counselor isn’t the counselor Alahayim wills for us, so we have to be mindful of who we go to for counsel as everyone isn’t counseling from Alahayim:
Sir 37:7-12
Every counsellor extolleth counsel; but there is some that counselleth for himself. 8 Beware of a counsellor, and know before what need he hath; for he will counsel for himself; lest he cast the lot upon thee, 9 And say unto thee, Thy way is good: and afterward he stand on the other side, to see what shall befall thee. 10 Consult not with one that suspecteth thee: and hide thy counsel from such as envy thee. 11 Neither consult with a woman touching her of whom she is jealous; neither with a coward in matters of war; nor with a merchant concerning exchange; nor with a buyer of selling; nor with an envious man of thankfulness; nor with an unmerciful man touching kindness; nor with the slothful for any work; nor with an hireling for a year of finishing work; nor with an idle servant of much business: hearken not unto these in any matter of counsel. 12 But be continually with a holy man, whom thou knowest to keep the commandments of the Lord, whose, mind is according to thy mind, and will sorrow with thee, if thou shalt miscarry.
-
For these reasons, pray to Alahayim through Christ or unto Christ for an answer as to who they would have you to go to for counsel so you can rest assured your where Alahayim wants you to be not placing yourself under someone who isn’t sent from Alahayim for you:
Ecclesiasticus 4:27
Make not thyself an underling to a foolish man; neither accept the person of the mighty.
-
If he is not keeping the commandments and fruits himself, don’t be a respecter of persons to turn a blind eye to submit yourself to him:
Ecclesiasticus 4:22
Accept no person against thy soul, and let not the reverence of any man cause thee to fall.
-
Being a respecter of persons will only cause you to fall not being lead in right counsels:
Proverbs 14:7
Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.
-
If he is not instructing you according to the knowledge of the law, that’s a cause for concern:
Proverbs 14:8
The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.
-
If you notice he is operating in deceit, it’s a cause for concern as the spirits he is operating in will cause harm to you (causing one to fall in respect of persons for example) and others he is counseling and that are under him:
Ecclesiasticus 10:2
As the judge of the people is himself, so are his officers; and what manner of man the ruler of the city is, such are all they that dwell therein.
-
The spirit the leadership is operating in will be reflected in the personnel under them as every kind cleaveth to his like (yet if they are not like the leadership they will not be respecter of persons to depart from the city {church in this instance})
Pro 19:28
An unholy witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.
-
The pride of a false witness will cause them to hate the judgments of Alahayim so their counsels will not be according the law and if the law is mentioned it will not be be in the manner of the fruits of the Spirit that one is counseled or being lead to operate, as the law and the fruits work together through love and long-suffering unto the salvation of men:
Pro 6:19
A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
-
There won’t be peace in the congregation because of his leadership, mode of operation in pride, deceit, and lying setting that example to those under him. On the other hand, a faithful witness of Alahayim will do the works of Alahayim and speak according to their counsel to deliver souls:
Pro 12:17
He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.
-
He will be guileless and transparent not deceitful
Pro 14:5
A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
-
He will be honest and not lie to you
Pro 14:25
A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.
-
As a faithful true witness from Alahayim will be honest, even when he may have fallen because he is sincerely seeking to do Alahayim’s will in righteousness, he will deliver souls by setting a right example to the flock and counseling them to follow Alahayim in sincerity not hypocrisy.
Sirach 10:1
A wise judge will instruct his people; and the government of a prudent man is well ordered.
-
For help in identifying Alahayim’s minsters to get counsel from, an example of a true witness from Alahayim vs a false witness from the Devil can be identified when referencing the tab “True vs False Prophet”:
https://www.hebrewreaders.com/true-vs-false-prophet
-
Please reference the above tab to be well informed as to what a true witness of Alahayim exemplifies to ensure you are getting your counsel from the right person(s). Now in reference to hearing from Alahayim, they speak by five means:
1Sa 28:6
And when Saul enquired of Ahayah, Ahayah answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.
-
When making inquiry of Ahayah through Christ, he responds via the following means:
-
Dreams [Job 33:14-18; Num 12:6; Matt 2:13]
-
Visions [Gen 46:2; Eze 1:1; Num 24:4]
-
Urim (his priest) [Num 18:18-21]
-
Prophets (those who he speaks to via his Voice) [1Sam 3:4, 10; 2Sa 7:4-17; Hos 12:10]
-
Angels, [2 Esdras 4:1] who will come and relay to you the Word of Ahayah that was sent unto them. [1Sam 3:4, 10; Judg 13:8-21; Matt 2:13; Acts 10:2-8; 11:13-14]
-
Now mind you, even men of Alahayim like the Apostle Peter, [Acts 10:9-20,28] can have visions (trance) that can require an interpretation as they can be in a parable just like dreams so every dream or vision isn’t to be taken at face value in all instances and a vision or dream isn’t to be trusted unless they be sent from the Most High:
Jeremiah 14:14
Then Ahayah said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.
Jeremiah 23:13-14, 16-17, 21-22, 25-26
And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err. 14 I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah. 16 Thus saith Ahayah of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of Ahayah. 17 They say still unto them that despise me, Ahayah hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you. 21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. 22 But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings. 25 I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. 26 How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
Sir 34:1-3, 6-7
The hopes of a man void of understanding are vain and false: and dreams lift up fools. 2 Whoso regardeth dreams is like him that catcheth at a shadow, and followeth after the wind. 3 The vision of dreams is the resemblance of one thing to another, even as the likeness of a face to a face. 6 If they be not sent from the most High in thy visitation, set not thy heart upon them. 7 For dreams have deceived many, and they have failed that put their trust in them.
-
An example of a dream being sent from the Most High is that there will be an interpretation to the matter from Alahayim:
Gen 40:8-13
And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to Alahayim? tell me them, I pray you. 9 And the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me; 10 And in the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes: 11 And Pharaoh's cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand. 12 And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days: 13 Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.
-
Dreams sent from Alahayim are in dark sentences not easy to be understood unless Alahayim gives the understanding so they require an interpretation from an interpreter ordained of Alahayim to give interpretations to know what He is saying:
Job 33:14-18
For Ala speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. 15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; 16 Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, 17 That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man. 18 He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
-
So Ala will speak in a dream that a man doesn’t understand, yet He ordains interpreters and gives them understanding to help understand what he is showing by the dream to withdraw man from his purpose that wasn’t good showing him the right way and to hide pride from man having to humble himself by not taking the dream according to his own heart but submitting himself to the interpreter to get the instructions Alahayim sent for him:
Job 33:23-24
If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness: 24 Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.
-
Confirming He gives the decree for the interpretation to be sent unto the interpreter to help instruct the man so he won’t end up in the pit by some evil work Alahayim was revealing to him or giving him an admonition to avoid getting hurt. Everyone doesn’t get interpretations though as Ahayah refuses to be inquired of by some because of the evil of their doings [Eze 20:31] or it may be by reason of some temptation that awaits or some transgression committed that they are unaware of as to why they aren’t getting an answer from Alahayim, [Hermas Mandate 9 {1:7}] so it’s a privilege and a thing worthy of showing gratitude for in humility that Alahayim sends an interpretation of things, so we can have His counsel as He gives understanding to those repentant souls (or souls working in repentance) whom He sees in the earth that they aren’t repenting in hypocrisy trying to get over on Him to stay in their sins:[Hermas Parable 8 {6:2}]
Job 33:27-30
He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not; 28 He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light. 29 Lo, all these things worketh Alọha oftentimes with man, 30 To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.
-
Alahayim willing this helps understand the value of getting an answer from Alahayim is to be cherished as it’s not something we are entitled to and it’s Their compassion to give us understanding of ourselves or any endeavor we have to keep us from evil so that we may be enlightened with the light of Their law (which is Their will) in any matter and live through serving Them.
The Necessity for Counsel
-
Walking in our own counsel (thoughts) and our own heart (understanding) can be detrimental to us as it shows Alahayim is not in all our thoughts:
Testament of Judah 12:2
2 And walk not after your lusts, nor in the imaginations of your thoughts in haughtiness of heart;
-
Walking according to our lusts and imaginations in the pride and hatred of our hearts not being willing to humble ourselves to submit to Alahayim and Their counsel, will lead to us lifting ourselves up in our own hearts desire and not seeking after Alahayim’s thoughts for us in everything in our lives:
Psalms 10:3-4
For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom Ahayah abhorreth. 4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after Alahayim: Alahayim is not in all his thoughts.
-
The pride of heart turns us away from Alahayim, not to seek after Him for our own desires sake to do what we want in our heart;
Ecclesiasticus 10:12
The beginning of pride is when one departeth from Alahayim, and his heart is turned away from his Maker.
Proverbs 18:2
A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.
-
Our own heart's desires will have a negative effect on our thought process, not seeking after the judgements of Alahayim so that our minds can rest and be at peace:
Ecclesiasticus 33:5
The heart of the foolish is like a cartwheel; and his thoughts are like a rolling axletree.
-
Not seeking after Alahayim’s counsel but walking in our own thoughts will lead to doing things that will be grievous to Alahayim and others as we won’t do things that are upright in Their sight:
Psalms 10:5
His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.
-
Ahayah’s judgements are actually to help our mental health through the simplicity and humility of walking in them:
Testament of Gad 7:3
3 Seek out the judgements of the Lord, and thy mind will rest and be at peace.
-
This is why Alahayim wants us to seek after Them and not walk according to our own hearts and understanding so that we would be helped and be at peace mentally:
Proverbs 3:5-7
Trust in Ahayah with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear Ahayah, and depart from evil.
-
In seeking after Him in all our ways He will help us turn from the evil of our own wisdom and perception to direct us in His paths to actually do what’s right unto Him and when we listen to Him, it shows we love ourselves and when we do what He says in His understanding to depart from evil, good things will happen.
Proverbs 19:8
He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.
Proverbs 15:32
He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.
-
Alahayim wants us to listen and obey Him, not idols in self hatred of our own souls so that things may go well with us:
Psalms 81:8-10
Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me; 9 There shall no strange ala be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange ala. 10 I am Ahayah thy Alahayim, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
-
We have to desire to drink the water of His word and we will be filled:
Psalms 81:11-13
But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me. 12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels. 13 Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!
-
Because we don’t desire it in our hearts, Alahayim would respect our choices and let us be given over unto the strange deities (idols) in our hearts to walk in our own counsels though He wishes we would walk in His ways because we desire it sincerely.
Isaiah 55:6
Seek ye Ahayah while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto Ahayah, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our Alahayim, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith Ahayah.
-
He wants to help us as He understands more than we do and knows His ways are life, peace and profitable for us.
Isaiah 55:9-11
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
-
He is the only one that can actually fulfill the desires of His heart as He is Ala so His word does not fail but prospers as His Beloved does the work and His Spirit helps in wisdom to fulfill it. A man who understands His omnipotence will be considerate to seek His face in counsel being aware of how pride can lead to erroring or operating without counsel to one’s own hurt:
Sir 32:18
A man of counsel will be considerate; but a strange and proud man is not daunted with fear, even when of himself he hath done without counsel
-
Beware of pride in heart to do things without counsel as it only hurts our own soul in the end of any given matter:
Sir 6:2
Extol not thyself in the counsel of thine own heart; that thy soul be not torn in pieces as a bull straying alone.
-
Rather in humility, be patient in seeking Alahayim and waiting on Their counsel:
Ecclesiasticus 20:32
Necessary patience in seeking the Lord is better than he that leadeth his life without a guide.
-
Even Christ our Lord and head does everything by counsel of his Head, the Father, for an example to us of the righteousness of doing all things with his counsel
Ignatius to the Magnesians 7:1
1 Therefore as the Lord did nothing without the Father, being united with Him, either by Himself or by the Apostles, so neither do ye anything without the bishop and the presbyters.
-
Yache is the Bishop of our souls we ought not to do anything without and the ministers in the Church fall under the category of presbyters for us to go unto for counsel when matters arise.
2 Esdras 2:17-19
Fear not, thou mother of the children: for I have chosen thee, saith the Lord. 18 For thy help will I send my servants Esaias and Jeremy, after whose counsel I have sanctified and prepared for thee twelve trees laden with divers fruits, 19 And as many fountains flowing with milk and honey, and seven mighty mountains, whereupon there grow roses and lilies, whereby I will fill thy children with joy.
-
As we mentioned earlier, (Eph 4:11-12) there are the prophets (Two Witnesses) to come ministering to help the Church and her children, so seeking the two of them (who will be wise being endowed with power from the Lord Christ) for counsel is profitable to do:
Tob 4:18
Ask counsel of all that are wise, and despise not any counsel that is profitable.
-
For these reasons, we are commanded as follows;
Ecclesiasticus 37:15
And above all this pray to the most High, that he will direct thy way in truth.
-
When believing men pray, we pray through our Lord Yache, our Bishop, that he may entreat and take our prayers unto the Father for us to receive guidance according to Their will. As for the believing women they would pray from the house of their righteous father/husband giving reverence unto that house, while praying in the name of our Lord Yache:
Please reference the tab "The Order of Prayer through Hierarchy" for further understanding on prayer:
https://www.hebrewreaders.com/the-order-of-prayer-through-hierarchy
Jhn 16:26
At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
Jhn 14:13
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
-
The right order of prayer in humility when seeking counsel is through Christ our Lord or unto Christ that he may present our prayers unto the Father. Let's not let any spirit of pride keep us from doing this good work in the fear of Alahayim with good intent to reverence our Lord and Alahayim by doing things in the fear of Them (humility):
Testament of Naphtali 2:9
So then, my children, let all your works be done in order with good intent in the fear of Alahayim, and do nothing disorderly in scorn or out of its due season.
-
In good order, prayer unto Alahayim through our Lord or to our Lord is the first step and the seeking counsel through his minsters is to be done in every matter (as a means of helping us grow to where one day we will be strong in the faith and understanding to where we will need the ministers counsel less and less as we are understanding the will of Lord Yache for ourselves better in our hearts over time and experiences:
Ecclesiasticus 37:16
Let reason go before every enterprise, and counsel before every action.
Sir 32:17-20
A sinful man will not be reproved, but findeth an excuse according to his will. 18 A man of counsel will be considerate; but a strange and proud man is not daunted with fear, even when of himself he hath done without counsel. 19 Do nothing without advice; and when thou hast once done, repent not. 20 Go not in a way wherein thou mayest fall, and stumble not among the stones.
Sir 33:29
But be not excessive toward any; and without discretion do nothing.
Ecclesiasticus 37:15
And above all this pray to the most High, that he will direct thy way in truth.
-
Above getting counsel is prayer for direction, so pray first then ask for guidance and understanding in counsel from a holy man ministering in the church whom you know to keep the commandments:
Ecclesiasticus 37:12
But be continually with a holy man, whom thou knowest to keep the commandments of the Lord, whose, mind is according to thy mind, and will sorrow with thee, if thou shalt miscarry.
-
After prayer and seeking counsel, while waiting patiently, we are to meditate on the law in our thoughts and focus on good works while waiting for answers so that Alahayim will hear our Lord’s prayer for us giving wisdom as we desire:
Sir 6:37
Let thy mind be upon the ordinances of the Lord and meditate continually in his commandments: he shall establish thine heart, and give thee wisdom at thine owns desire.
-
Not only is it upright to get counsel from the ministers, but also to walk with wise men who are also striving in keeping the law as companions feed off of one another and build in the faith:
Proverbs 13:20
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
-
This upright order of Alahayim ensures we are walking in his counsel and thoughts of His heart given to us by our Lord so we will be prospered in all things with no fear because we know we’ve gotten counsel from on high and no strange deity can deceive our hearts to turn to the right or left from Alahayim’s ways:
Psa 33:11
The counsel of Ahayah standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations
Pro 21:30
There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against Ahayah.
-
for such reasons, Alahayim’s counsel is esteemed above wealth:
Sir 40:25
Gold and silver make the foot stand sure: but counsel is esteemed above them both.
-
Placing high value on His counsel, will strengthen our heart to seek it and receiving it by taking heed to it because we hold it in high regard valuing the benefits of good that will come from it:
Proverbs 12:15
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
Proverbs 19:20
Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
Sir 22:16
As timber girt and bound together in a building cannot be loosed with shaking: so the heart that is stablished by advised counsel shall fear at no time.
-
This helps understand Alahayim didn’t give us the spirit of fear nor will we be fearful because by seeking counsel, we will have a sound mind walking in what They will for us to do:
2 Timothy 1:7
For Alahayim hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
-
This is praise worthy unto Alahayim understanding how valuable it is when the counsel does come from Alahayim in any given matter to perform it with gratitude:
Psa 16:7
I will bless Ahayah, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
-
It’s gonna take experiences to get grown up in the faith where Alahayim is in all our thoughts.
Hebrews 5:13-14
For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
-
Over time, we will get to the place where our thoughts are going to have Alahayim in them all and we will be thinking upon Them in our night seasons and won’t have as much need for our counselors like we did when we were babes in the faith, and one day we will know good counsel in our own hearts as we will be faithful unto ourselves in love not willing to do things without counsel and those counsels we seek from our counselor will be shorter discussions as we are of the same mind and able to discern good from evil after having been exercised by the experiences in practicing righteousness.
Sir 37:13
And let the counsel of thine own heart stand: for there is no man more faithful unto thee than it.
-
When we get to this place where we understand the way Alahayim wants us to go in our own hearts, we still get counsel in every action as the law commands, yet the conversations will be shorter as we are coming to the dialogue with understanding and just seeking to confirm we are going in the right way as it’s the ministers duties to raise, teach, and nourish the flock so that they themselves may be girt in truth, walking in all righteousness, and sustaining meat serving the Lord and the Father and obeying Their Holy Spirit.
Moderation & Patience in Prayer
-
For further understanding of this process brothers, do things in moderation, not growing anxious when concerns arise, but by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving to Alahayim, raise your concerns to Him through Christ and cast your cares unto Him as an act of humbling ourselves before Him, and then speak to your ministering counselor about the concern for counsel, (for unmarried sons still under their father, speak unto your believing father who is your counselor) then focus on the meditations of the law to ensure you’re are thinking of things that are just, lovely and good:
Ecclesiasticus 30:21
Give not over thy mind to heaviness, and afflict not thyself in thine own counsel.
-
So being aware of pride, don’t walk according to our own counsel but be temperate and seek counsel from Alahayim according to Their order of how to get counsel:
Philippians 4:5
Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
-
If unsettled about any matter, fulfill the law to go settle down, reason, and come to a peace of mind by trusting Alahayim’s process or taking the time to come to terms with Alahayim's will, that it's for the best, then go make enquiry.
Psalms 4:4
Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
Php 4:5-6
Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto Alahayim.
1Pe 5:6-7
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of Alahayim, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Php 4:7-8
And the peace of Alahayim, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Yache. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
-
While waiting on an answer, reason on the law to deal faithfully in everything you do while awaiting Alahayim’s will over your life:
Ecclesiasticus 33:3
A man of understanding trusteth in the law; and the law is faithful unto him, as an oracle.
-
The law and testimonies help us know Alahayim’s counsel in matters (seeking their counsel just ensures we are seeing things aright and doing things in due season according to Their will)
Psalms 119:24, 36
Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors. 36 Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.
-
Covetousness (helping pride) will turn our hearts away from the contentment of walking in the way of the testimonies in humility, so pray for deliverance from those spirits that seek to turn our hearts away from our Maker:
Psalms 119:30
I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.
-
Seeking the judgements of Ahayah in scripture truly gives us a peace of mind because it's how we can know the way of truth not to be disturbed by the confusion that Lying and Wrath causes when we set the ways of Alahayim before us as the only way a matter can be taken care of or done.
Psalms 119:31
I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O Ahayah, put me not to shame.
-
This is how we put ourselves in the mighty hand of Alahayim casting all our cares upon them by doing what's right according to their words and hoping in their deliverance in any matter. Even when we don’t know what to say, patiently seeking counsel is upright:
Ecclesiasticus 33:4
Prepare what to say, and so thou shalt be heard: and bind up instruction, and then make answer.
Sirach 32:19
19 Do nothing without advice; and when thou hast once done, repent not.
-
Once Alahayim gives us understanding, do not deviate to the right or left from their instruction holding their words in high regard:
Ecclesiasticus 5:10-13
Be stedfast in thy understanding; and let thy word be the same. 11 Be swift to hear; and let thy life be sincere; and with patience give answer. 12 If thou hast understanding, answer thy neighbour; if not, lay thy hand upon thy mouth. 13 Honour and shame is in talk: and the tongue of man is his fall.
-
When young in the faith and learning, It’s not wise to go according to one’s own mind, so we encourage the brethren to do all things in order in the fear of Alahayim (humility) as outlined in the scriptures discussed in this understanding covered today:
Sir 5:2-3
Follow not thine own mind and thy strength, to walk in the ways of thy heart: 3 And say not, Who shall control me for my works? for the Lord will surely revenge thy pride.
-
It’s the spirits of pride that despises being under someone else’s control or counsel to seek guidance from Alahayim in Their proper order:
Sir 3:24
For many are deceived by their own vain opinion; and an evil suspicion hath overthrown their judgment.
-
Leaning on Alahayim for understanding by taking counsel in every action from our Lord through his ministers in the faith as we grow in serving Them ourselves and working patience to wait on Alahayim’s counsel is wise:
Pro 1:5
A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: 6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
-
Alahayim willing, we all grow in the learning process of attaining unto wisdom and wise counsel doing things in orderly fashion in the sight of Alahayim that we may gain understanding.
Men Counseling Wives
-
It’s a husband's duty to teach his wife and raise her up in the faith
Ephesians 5:25-29
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

-
In training her up to maturity in the faith, she comes to him for learning;
Ephesians 5:22
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
Definition:

1Co 14:35
And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home:…
Ephesians 5:24
Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
-
In learning from her husband, she ought to consult with him asking her questions to understand him and his understanding of the scriptures and doctrine so that she may go after his mind in the way that he would have her, agreeing as one so that she may have her mind well instructed in the faith being in agreement with her husband in the faith as he dwells with her according to the knowledge of the law in everything to help foster a healthy relationship that would be helpful to them both:
1 Peter 3:7
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
-
A man would get the knowledge of the law to understand truth in any matter [Rom 2:20] to apply the law, fruits of it, and testimonies [Isa 8:20] in everything with his wife to dwell with her according to them out of charity to edify her by his works, not dwelling without understanding by operating according to his own heart doing things according to his own thoughts. Also he would honor her which is to place a high value upon her as someone precious to him to watch over her and guide her by teaching her to walk in the law, fruits and testimonies as well so she can be well instructed and after his mind as well.
Psalms 32:8
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
-
She will benefit from being instructed and taught in the knowledge of Alahayim. The fruits of her husband's efforts the will show in her works:
Ecclesiasticus 36:23
If there be kindness, meekness, and comfort, in her tongue, then is not her husband like other men.
-
These are signs of a husband who loves his wife doing the work at home (with a wife who reverences him [Eph 5:33]) to guide his wife in the right way dwelling with her according knowledge so her mind would be well instructed unto operating in such good works:
Ecclesiasticus 26:14
A silent and loving woman is a gift of the Lord; and there is nothing so much worth as a mind well instructed.
-
In charity, if she would go in the way he would have her after his mind taking heed to the good instructions he gives (through his knowledge of the law), it will bring the relationship closer and he can build with her, as truth with each other and abiding in the law brings oneness, but if she won’t respect him to reverence, listen to him and be subject to him or be willing to learn to be under obedience by putting in the work to do so, then in charity, he has to take heed and not give himself over to her to let her have her way:
Ecclesiasticus 7:26
Hast thou a wife after thy mind? forsake her not: but give not thyself over to a light woman.
-
A man of understanding understands that he can't give himself over to a woman who lightly esteems him not having respect for him to be after his mind as they cannot walk together in the faith unless they agree together;
Amos 3:3
Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
-
A wife that reverences her husband and agrees with him will go after his mind getting his counsel before every action as she learns to be according to his mind showing her subjection to him and reverence for him by getting and going according to his advice in everything.
-
As she learns his counsel and reasonings according to the law, her mind will be well instructed and she will grow in agreement with him walking together according to the same law. In time she will be operating as he would operate having been instructed in the right way. As she grows to have the same mind as him walking together with him, she will exemplify the fruits of the Spirit which will show her husband is instructing her well:
Ecclesiasticus 26:14
A silent and loving woman is a gift of the Lord; and there is nothing so much worth as a mind well instructed.
Ecclesiasticus 36:23
If there be kindness, meekness, and comfort, in her tongue, then is not her husband like other men.
-
Eventually, he will safely trust her to make decisions knowing she is thinking like him and she will do him good all his days:
Proverbs 31:11-12
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
-
The more they are in harmony agreeing together, their prayers won't be hindered and Alahayim will hear their prayers to direct their way in truth when they inquire of him.
1 Peter 3:1-2, 7
Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; 2 While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. 7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
Ecclesiasticus 37:15
And above all this pray to the most High, that he will direct thy way in truth.
-
A woman may have friends and etc. being at peace with all, yet her husband is her one friend and counselor she is to go to for counsel as wives are subject to their own husbands in everything:
Eph 5:24
Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Ecclesiasticus 6:5-6
Sweet language will multiply friends: and a fair speaking tongue will increase kind greetings. 6 Be in peace with many: nevertheless have but one counsellor of a thousand.
-
Seeking counsel from her husband who keeps the commandments is upright as they have the same mind desiring to keep the law and he will sypathize with her if she miscarries and teach her what's needful for her growth.
Ecclesiasticus 37:12
But be continually with a holy man, whom thou knowest to keep the commandments of the Lord, whose mind is according to thy mind, and will sorrow with thee, if thou shalt miscarry.
-
When the wife comes for counsel, they ought to pray, and in praying he ought to pray inquiring to the Lord Yache or through the Lord Yache unto Alahayim about things whenever they come up so Yache can pray unto the Father on the matter, and give His reasoning and counsel from Alahayim. In the mean time of waiting for counsel, they ought to meditate on the law in their thoughts and focus on good works while waiting for answers so that Alahayim will establish their hearts and give Their wisdom on what's right to do as they desire:
Sir 6:37
Let thy mind be upon the ordinances of the Lord and meditate continually in his commandments: he shall establish thine heart, and give thee wisdom at thine owns desire.
